Gusanito Factory of Worms
Harvesting a worm bin can be time consuming. The Gusanito Factory of Worms is a self harvesting worm bin. How it works !
The first tray is made up of worm bedding, worms and garbage. When the first tray if full and ready to be harvested the second tray is filled with bedding and put on top of the first tray. The worms migrate up to the second tray thru the holes in the bottom of the tray leaving their castings behind in the first tray. When the worms have all migrated to the second tray the castings in the first tray will be ready to use. This process can take some time (worms are not fast creatures) so the additional trays are to be used when the second tray is full and so forth.
It comes with either 3, 4 or 5 trays.
The recommended amount of worms to start it with is 1 pound of red wigglers.
